What we are about

Vision: Inspiring the youth, nurturing their dreams and strengthening communities.

Sober Hearts Africa is an organization dedicated to working with young people using music, film, recreational camps and team building workshops in a quest to invest skills, knowledge and inspiration, particularly to the rural based youth who are somewhat without resources, connections, networks, and opportunities. Sober Hearts Africa works with a strong belief in human potential, and the power of motivation.

Goals:

  • To work with young people and inspire them to dream and look forward to a brighter future regardless of their                 backgrounds and circumstances through camps, seminars and workshop programs.

  • Work with organizations with similar or varying goals to better and improve the service provision offered by Sober           Hearts Africa.

Objectives:

  • To plan and run educational and motivational programs and camps for young people from primary to high school.

  • To visit schools teaching HIV and AIDS awareness with maximum fun and impact.

  • Provide career guidance.

  • To inspire innovative thinking amongst young people.

  • To unite races and bridge the gap between those who have and those who have less through diversity camps.

  •  Assist young people to improve their ability to handle challenging situations with survival skills.

  •  Instill a strong sense of self identity and empathy for towards others.

UNAIDS Global Reports show that after from Swaziland and Lesotho (which are both countries located in South Africa), South Africa, Africa has the highest percentage of people between the ages of 15-24 living with HIV and 2011 statistics predicted 11.9 percent.

Sober Hearts Africa is not a reactive Organization as much as it is a preventative one. Encouraging and teaching young people to stay negative and inspiring positive young people to live maintain a positive attitude.
